About

We are three career independent school teachers, administrators and coaches. We believe that athletics play an important role in our school communities and that there is a great need for coach training and networking. Many new teachers are hired each year without a background in coaching, and even veteran coaches are challenged by the ever changing athletic landscape. We believe that the personal relationships is what builds great connections both between athlete and coach and among professional peers.

John Boozang is the Director of College Counseling at Wilbraham & Monson Academy. He has also served as an Associate Director of Admission as well as a Varsity Baseball and Soccer Coach. John worked in the surety bond industry prior to independent schools. He attended Suffield Academy, received his Bachelors from Lafayette where he played baseball and later his masters from Wesleyan.

Mike Mannix is a Leadership Gifts Officer and Assistant Athletic Director at Wilbraham & Monson. Mike is also the  Prep Basketball Coach as well as former assistant baseball coach. Mike spent a number of years prior working in the NBA as well as college basketball. He has a Degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts.

Wally Swanson is the Dean of Faculty at Wilbraham & Monson Academy and also the Varsity rugby coach and  previously a lacrosse coach. He worked in international development prior to independent schools. He attended Thayer Academy and received his BA from Middlebury College and his Masters in International Education from Harvard.
